The '99 Noise Records reissue, which is the only one supported by the band, has one bonus track, "Return to the Eve (1985 Studio Jam)". The band also decided to substitute the original versions of the tracks "The Usurper" and "Jewel Throne" for the ones found in the "Tragic Serenades" EP. These feature Martin Eric Ain on bass guitar.
Jeff Walker: Bass/Vocals Bill Steer: Guitar/Vocals Ken Owen: Drums/Vocals
The cover to the left is the original "gore" cover, which was later banned and replaced by a "clean" cover, which was drawings of a human similar to those found in biology books. The exact same cover was used for "Symphonies Of Sickness" except with a different color scheme. In the year 2002/2003, the gore covers were put back.
"Reek Of Putrefaction" was re-released on CD for the first time in 1989 by Earache Records (cat.-no. MOSH 18CD for the uncensored version, GMOSH 18CD for the censored cover). The CD (76:25) contained both, the "Symphonies Of Sickness" and the "Reek Of Putrefaction" album, but omitted the "Reek Of Putrefaction" tracks # 5, 6, 8, 13, 19 and 21.

According to Danzig members at the time, James Hetfield of Metallica fame provides backing vocals for "Twist Of Cain" and "Possession". However, due to Hetfield's contractual obligations to Elektra Records, he does not appear on the album's credits.
"The Hunter", a well known blues standard mostly known for being covered by Blue Cheer, was not written by Glenn Danzig, as is claimed in the liner notes.

Frankenchrist is the third album released by the American hardcore punk band Dead Kennedys in 1985 on Alternative Tentacles.
The album was a subject of controversy because of a poster inserted in the original record sleeve. The poster, H. R. Giger's Landscape #XX, or Penis Landscape, was a painting depicting rows of penises and vulvas. The band was brought to trial for distributing harmful matter to minors, and though the case did not result in a conviction, Jello Biafra's Alternative Tentacles was driven almost to bankruptcy. Only through the support of fans was the label able to stay alive. Biafra gained attention as a champion of free speech, and was subsequently one of the most active opponents of the Parents Music Resource Center. The cover itself depicts a Shriners parade.
We Care a Lot is the debut studio album by American rock band Faith No More, originally released in 1985 and distributed through San Francisco-based label Mordam Records. On the original vinyl release, the band is credited as "Faith. No More" on the album's liner notes, back cover, and on the record itself. The title track "We Care a Lot" was later rerecorded, for their follow-up album Introduce Yourself, and released as their first single.
A CD version with different artwork also exists as well as an LP on ARENA RECORDS ( ARENA 1005 ) with that different artwork. Produced and engineered by Glenn Evans Recorded at Quick Track Studios
Hear Nothing See Nothing Say Nothing was the 1982 album released by the Britishhardcore punk band Discharge, on Clay Records. Many critics at the time dismissed this album as "unmusical", though it is now considered both a classic of the era and the peak of Discharge's career. The guitar sound on the album is like a "wall of sound" of roaring buzzsaw-distortion. The vocals are shouted or screamed, rather than sung. The electric bass on the album is hard to hear distinctly; it is more like an indistinct rumble underneath the roar of guitar distortion and the clatter of the drums.
